Yes, you are still bound by the lease. The lease is a contract between you and the landlord; your obligations under the lease are not affected by the criminal activities of third parties not under the landlord's control. So unless you can show that the landlord, his family, or his staff committed the break in, you would still be bound by the lease. The landlord will have to repair an broken doors, windows, locks, etc. damaged during the break-in.
