If we have a home for sale and a realtor who showed it claims he got fleas from the home and is asking for compensation, is this appropriate?

We were just informed of this claim and intend to investigate the possibility of truth. The home is currently empty. If there are fleas, is there a law that requires compensation to be paid?

Interesting question. For the realtor who showed the home to claim he got fleas and is seeking compensation is highly unusual. I would consult with your real estate agent about this situation.

This realtor who is claiming he got fleas from your home has to prove he actually received them there and actually suffered some sort of damages. I view the claim against you as a frivolous claim. I would have your agent speak with the claimant's broker of record about the situation. Good luck.
