Did you have a union agreement or employment contract that covered the conditions of termination and, if so, was it violated? Did your treatment constitute some form of legally actionable discrimination or retaliation? If not, then as an "at will" worker, your company was free to set the terms of your employment much as it saw fit. In fact, absent any of the foregoing, a business can discharge an employee for any reason or no reason at all, with or without notice.
