I am in quite a predicament. I am currently on
NYS unemployment and as it’s a Saturday I
cannot get ahold of the state. My question.. I
just received a commission check from my
previous employer from work done WHILE
employed. Do I need to claim it this week even
though it’s for work I did WHILE employed?

Yes, in terms of unemployment beneifts, it is when you are paid, not when the obligation to pay you (that is, your right to be paid) arose that matters and determines eligibility; if paid this week, then this week is when you need to claim or reflect that money.
