What to do if the mortgage company identified the wrong property in the flood map as ours, so forced us to buy flood insurance?

Since they identified the wrong property, what recourse do we have for all those years of premiums paid? It’s not even our house.

I would consult with a real estate attorney that has experience in insurance law to see what your legal recourse is. Possibly sending a demand letter to the lender setting forth its error and the damages that you incurred in unnecessary flood insurance premiums with a yearly calculation and a total calculation would be the best way to start the process in getting matters resolved.
