I’m being accused of stealing jewelry from a friend. I was questioned and let go. I told them i would be willing to take a polygraph but then decided not to based on research, legal advice and family concerns.

He is a liar!!! Who cares what he considers a "quasi admission of guilt".  I am sure that the attorney that you consulted told you not to speak to anybody about this.  And, if for some reason, you are arrested, you should invoke your right to an attorney.

In short, you should not speak to anybody other than your attorney.

Hope this helps.
