If I cannot pay of the restitution that I am ordered to, can I get an extention of time to do so. Got laid off.

I would certainly ask for the extension right away. In most states, you are more or less automatically required to tell your probation officer about being laid off anyway. These days, so many people are being laid off, that unless there is something you haven't mentioned, it is not likely to be considered your fault.
If you need more help with this, I'd suggest you talk to a lawyer licensed in Connecticut, who is familiar with this area of the law. One place you can look for counsel is our website, http://attorneypages.com
