Suspended from work with out pay

I have been suspended from work with out pay for up to 6 months for being late returning from a break and kicking a door. They are saying that I took an unauthorized break which is untrue. They told me that I cannot collect unemployment because they are letting me keep my benefits but they are not telling me when I can return back to work. What are my rights. I am part of the teachers union but they are not doing anything to help me.

Okay, I seriously doubt you were suspended this long for being late.  It is probably the kicking the door thing and you are a teacher???????????????????

The only thing I can tell you is contact your teacher's union if you have one or consult with an employment labor attorney at www.attorneypages.com and check his or he record at the New Jersey State Bar.
