If I just received a settlement agreement from my former employor, should I retain a lawyer to look at it before I sign and send it back?
I received a $1,600 settlement agreement from former employer’s lawyer. Since I fully understand the terms and conditions, must I pay for an attorney just to sign and send it back or can I just sign and be done with it?

An individual person (i.e. not an LLC or corporation) is never required by the law to have an attorney: while you have a right to have a lawyer review the agreement with you, you do not have to have an attorney and can instead review and sign it yourself.
