my brother is serving a 10yr mandatory sentence for armed robbery,he been in 2yrs last week he was sentenced to a 25yr to 30 consecutive yrs in prison for 3 more armed robberies what doe that mean ,will he have to serve his 10yrs before starting his other.

According to the facts that you presented, the terms for the new convictions run consecutively (that means one after the other) but as to the original charge it is not clear. You need to get a copy of the sentencing record from the court. It will indicate when the first of the consecutive terms starts. If the first of these terms starts immediately then he will serve both at the same time (concurrent); if it starts at the end of his current term that would be consecutive. Again get a copy of his sentencing or just ask the attorney who represented him (I assume he had one).
In either event he will be in prison for quite some time.
