Yes, your employer can require that an outside, completely commission based employee must devote a certain amount of hours to working/selling, and can set essentially any number of hours they want. If you don't work as hard as they'd like, they can discontinue employing you; and if you don't want to put in as many hours as they'd like, you can seek alterate employment.
