Renter who never got keys

I inquired about a condo, met the owner, in the same day sign the lease (never got a copy) gave her $920 for rent, deposit and application fee a month ago. Never got keys and she’s cashed my checks. What do I do? I don’t even know what the lease agreement says. Please help!

I think you need to hire a lawyer and sue her for fraud.  One place to find an attorney in your area, who can best advise you on how to go after this person based on all of the facts, is our website, http://attorneypages.com

The basic definition of fraud is a knowing falsehood, a lie or silence when there is a duty to speak, about an important fact, that is meant to get someone to act to their own disadvantage relying on the falsehood, and which succeeds.  Here, you were promised a place to live, and got nothing for your money.

Don't let her get away with this!
