What to do about a Rent-A-Center misrepresnttation and fraud?

My friend bought a laptop from you and the thing never worked well and she brought it to the store where she purchased it from for servicing. When they returned it the A/C adaptor was missing and supplied her with a replacement. A week after she got it back the laptop began to not function correctly and the screen would go black and nonresponsive and she would be forced to shut it down and restart it over and over to regain access to the display. She did not understand how or what the problem with the laptop was and tried to deal with the malfunctioning unit until it just quit working

From what you have written about the item that was purchased, your friend did not get what she paid for and should ask the vendor for a full refund of what she paid. If she does not receive the recourse demanded, her option is small claims court against the vendor.
