An executor is entitled to receive monetary compensation (i.e. a fee) and reimbursement for any out-of-pocket expenses. However, the executor should not merely bill the estate for services; they must have the probate court approve any compensation or reimbursement requests. Assuming the reimbuserment is for a valid service, etc. regarding the estate and the executor has back up proof relating to the service and the payment of such service, the it should be approved.
