Rear ended and just found out insurance lapsed!?!?

i just got rearended about 3 hours ago the police were called as it was a 5 car accident, im not hurt but my car is destroyed.. when i called my insurance company to start the ball rolling on their end, they said my coverage had lapsed… i argued for a minuite and hung up because im so shaken and out of it… will i not get my car fixed because my insurance lapsed?

You have other options.  First, reinstate your car insurance.  Second, get the police report from the 5-car accident and file a small claims action against the driver at fault to collect for the damages to your car.  You do not need a lawyer in small claims court.  If the total amount you can collect in small claims is not enough to cover the car damages, then file in superior court.  you can still represent yourself.  dont waste time.  the at fault driver will have coverage to pay you.
