If you violate the terms of your probation, you will face further punishment, usually at least an extension of your probation, quite possibly additional costs, and sometimes a return to jail.

Exactly what punishment you get for a particular violation depends on the system in your state (it varies), what you are on probation for, and for how long, and how much of it you have satisfied, prior probation violations if any, and what your probation officer thinks of you.

Talking about your violation as a "technicality" doesn't help with that last one.  That's an argument that shows a bad attitude on your part;  if you think that's an argument that needs to be made, you're much better off letting a lawyer make it for you.  One place to find an attorney is our website, http://attorneypages.com
