I am so sorry for your loss.  I am assuming that the bank account and the car were not jointly held or owned, correct?  And that she died "intestate" or without a Will, correct? Then you would have to go and be appointd as the personal representative of the estate.  You would file a petition in the probate court in the county in which she resided at the time of her death.  Good luck.
