I am so sorry for your loss. If you owned the property as joint tenants with rights of survivorship or tenants by the entirety then the property passed to you automatically at the time of his death. You may only need his death certificate and the deed to change it legally. But you do not need to if you do not wish to. The house is yours. Good luck.
