If my mother died 5 years ago and my stepfather did not have a Will, what happens to all assets that they held in the title “and/or” each of their names?
The house, vehicles, boats, campers and bank accounts all listed in their names as “Mr. John Doe and/or Jane Doe”. They had no children together.

I am assuming here that assets were held with rights of survivorship, which is how married couples generally hold assets. If that is the case then they passed to him automatically at the time of her death. The assets then pass to his heirs through intestacy. Seek legal help.
