What to do if my landlord entered my house and I was in the shower?

He proceeded to my daughter’s room where she was hiding. He saw her and asked if I was home. He did not have my permission.

What the landlord did was wrong--except if there was an emergency (e.g. a fire, a major leak, gas, an electrical short), landlords may not enter a tenant's apartment without either reasonable notice (typically 24 hours) or the tenant's permission (they can always knock and ask to come in).

If the landlord only does this the one time, there's not really anything to do--the law would not provide you enough compensation to make a legal action worthwhile, since you aparently did not suffer any actual damage or loss, just emotional upset (the law does not compensate for emotional upset except in much more extreme cases--e.g. watching a family member die).

If the landlord has done this before, or does it again, so that there is a patter, you might want to go to court to get a court order directing him to not do this--and possibly some sort of protective or restaining order against him, too.
