Without knowing all the facts it's hard to day definitively but my experience is to never deal with an insurance company on this type of claim without being represented by an attorney. These companies just love to low ball an unrepresented claimant.
Also, you talk about your actual bills but what about your pain and suffering, possible loss of income, and future medical bills, etc.?
An insurance company's first offer is always based on one thing - profit. If this is what they say the claim is worth chances are it's worth is considerably more.
