I am uncertain as to why he would need a copy of your birth certificate. Perhaps he wishes to ensure he has the correct legal name of your birth prior to filing. I don't think he needs it and so I would not give it. If he has subpoenaed for particular records, then you may be required to give copies of particular documents but until he subpoenas you I would not budge.
