If my husband and I have a large amount of medical bill debt that is on our credit and we are being called about it daily, is bankruptcy right for us?

Honestly, only you will be able to decide if bankruptcy is "right for you." The good news is that most consumer protection attorneys will offer a free consultation to go over your situation and make sure that you understand how all your options, both with and without bankruptcy, will likely play out.

 

That being said, I bet you'll find that bankruptcy is the most cost effective way to get rid of your medical debt. However, go see a bankruptcy attorney to make sure that you qualify (don't make too much money), to make sure you know which debts you can and can't get rid of (probably can't get rid of recent tax debt, student loans, and child support obligations), and to make sure you know if any property of yours would be at risk in bankruptcy.
