If my H1B case is pending and I’ve applied to it from outside the US, will signing this form and receiving payment affect case in anyway given it’s still on initial review?

I recently got hired as a forgein contractor to perform some services to a US based non-profit. I was asked to sign a W8 form for the tax withholdings to the IRS.

Your H1b visa application that is pending would allow an American employer to employee you in this country as a foreign national that performs specialty work. Assuming you are outside the United States now payment to you while outside this country as a foreign contractor should not affect you H1B application process from what you have written.
