Must a small estate be put through probate?

My grandpa just recently died and I’m executor of the Will. Also, I’m owner on his bank accounts. I have 2 other sisters and his wishes were to split everything 3 ways. There a few medical bills I need to pay and that is the only debt he had. Do I really need to go to probate court?

No. there is a procedure in California to expedite the distribution of a small estate. Obtain the services of probate lawyers and the lawyer fees should be pretty reasonable and you will be sure everything is done correctly.
