What are my rights if my employer said that since the company we were contracted with was closed for 2 weeks we would still get paid but something came up and I had to quit the day before going back?

Is my employer still obligated to pay me for those 2 weeks?

You are most likely not entitled to the money unless you had a written agreement, signed by the employer, that you would be paid it under certain circumstances and those circumstances apply. In the absence of a written agreement, if you did not work for 2 weeks for any reason, including the company contracted with being closed, they do not need to pay you.
