What to do if my daughter’s father is over $2000 behind on child support?

He never makes full payments. He had absolutely nothing to do win my daughter the first 6 months of her life and since then he is only around when it is convienient for him. He lives in one state and I live in another, soshouldn’t we follow the laws of my state; I don’t think that I should have to travel to his state for court. How can I get his parental rights terminated and completely out of the picture? He is not on the birth certificate.

I suggest that you consult with a family law attorney as to filing a petition for an order to show contempt of a court order due to his failure to abide by the court order in place. By filing such a petition and seeking termination of any custody and visitation rights you might get payments for child support on time.
