If the employer has shared truthful information about your work performance, you have no cause of action:

1) You have no recognized privacy expectation about your work performance or disciplinary actions--this information is known to the employer and is generated by your performance at work, witnessed or documented by other employees or supervisors. It is not your private information. The employer may share this information at will, unless there is some agreement or contract requiring confidentiality.

2) Truthful information, even if damaging, is not defamation; people may lawfully share truthful information.
