If my car was damaged when a passenger in an SUV opened their door into my still moving vehicle, who do I pursue legally?

The police report that I filed states that I was not at fault for the damages to either vehicle. I have liability insurance only.

Legally the individual responsible is the person who caused the damage.  You may be able to make a claim with the insurance company for the vehicle the person was riding in.  It depends on the terms of that insurance policy whether or not they will cover the damage to your car.
