Is there a way to trace a bailbond to see who claimed it?
I put in $1,000 to bail my son-in-law over 5 years ago. The bailbond was under somebody else’s name. I was told that the bailbond agency kept the money. I still believe that the bail money was claimed and somebody cashed it. How can I find out since this person no longer has a receipt?

The best way to resolve the situation you are writing about concerning the bail bond that you placed to see what happened to it is to contact the bonding company to see what the result was with the bond as to its release. You need to realize that the money placed ($1,000) is typically 10% of the bond needed and is the fee that the bail bond company receives for placement of the bond.
Meaning, the bonding company is entitled to keep the $1,000 placed for the bond as its fee. I would contact the bonding company that received the $1,000 about your question to try and get further answers.
