You didn't give much by way of details. However, as a geeral rule, an employer can set the terms and conditions of employment much as it sees fit; this would include whether or not an employee can carry cash. This is known as "at will" employment. For your part, you can choose to work for this employer or not.

So unless you have an employment/union agreement that provides otherwise or this mandate violates your own company's policy, you have no choice but to do as your employer requires. Also, no form of actionable discriminaton can be the reason for such a prohibition.
