When I first moved into my home, my neighbor asked if he could continue cutting the hay on my land. He had been cutting it for many, many years. He offered to pay me $75 a year. I refused the money, telling him that I didn’t know how I could possibly mow that acreage and that it would be helping me a lot. He cut the hay for 2 years and this year he never showed up to do so. I was quite certain the first cutting was usually in the early part of this month. I waited and waited but he never showed up. The prior 2 years, he never said a word either, just showed up unannounced. Now he seems to have topped abruptly.

From what you have written you had a seasonal oral year to year agreement with your neighbor for the cutting of your hay that went two years and then presumably ended this year. I would call your neighbor and ask him if he was going to be cutting hay for you this year.
