Good question. For an applicant for a student loan to state that he or she is unmarried when in reality he or she is could be deemed a fraudulent statement if the answer is a material answer with respect to the award of the desired student loan and the intent of the person answering the question was done to cause harm or injury to the entity asking the question.

In short, the answer to your question if the answer to your question is fraudulent or not depends upon the circumstances for the question to be asked and answered by the person seeking the student loan.
