Good question. My experience is that a search warrant issued by a judge has to be very specific as to the location to be searched by law enforcement as well as to the time period that it is good for. Meaning, the address for the property to be searched under the issued warrant has to be correct.
If law enforcement under a search warrant go to the incorrect address satted on the warrant and contraband is found at a location that was not the intent of the warrant, the contraband seized and any resulting charges against the property owner would most likely have to be dismissed due to the faulty search warrant.
