So long as the car dealership that you purchased the car from disclosed to you before you bought it that it had illegal tint, it was not illegal for it to sell you the car in the condition it was in. However, if you bought the car not knowing that the tint was illegal from the dealership, it should have advised you of this material fact. As such, in such a scenario, the car dealership should be responsible at its own costs for removing the illegal tint.
