If a person attempts suicide after being with a friend but fails, are there criminal charges that can be placed upon the friend?
If law enforcement expresses no interest in investigating the occurance, can another person outside of law enforcement push for criminal charges to be placed upon the friend of the person who attempted suicide. Are there laws or limitations that protect this friend?

Under the laws of all states in this country suicide essentially is a crime and one who assists another could be charged as an aider to the crime. Given what you have written, a third person could press for an investigation of the alleged attempted crime as to the aider. There are laws that protect the person making the report that a crime has occurred.
