Some states require employers to provide a meal break, rest break or both. Unfortunately TX isn’t one of them. Additinally, an employer is not required to provide paid holidays either (in any state). All of the foregoing holds true unless the terms of an employment contract or union agreement provides otherwise. The fact is that an employer can set the conditions of the workplace much as it sees fit, absent some form of legally actionable discrimination or state law to the contrary. For your part, you can either continue to accept these conditions, complsain but rik termination, or quit.
