The majority of states allow a conversation to be recorded so long as one of the parties to the conversation agrees to it; these are known as "1 party" states. A minority of states only allow a conversation to be recodred if everyone to the conversation agrees to it; these are know as "all party consent" states. KS follows 1 party consent. And note, all states allow a recording no matter how many parties agree if the recording is done in a public place, since there is no reasonable expectation of privacy.
