the statute of limitations in north carolina for conversion is 3 years, so you are right on the line. if it has been a little less than 3 years, you should bring a civil lawsuit for conversion against your aunt immediately. if it has been a little more than 3 years, you may still have a case if you did not learn about the theft until later. see an attorney.
