What do I need to do to start the divorce process?
I’m a military wife with my husband currently deployed and just found out he been cheating on me and has contracted an STD. He is claiming that I cheated and he contracted the STD from me. I also have emails sent from him talking about/talking to other girls and trying to be with them. I need to know what kind of lawyer I need. Do I have to get a Jag lawyer? Do I need to contact his stationed base?

I am so sorry for your situation. You are wise to consider what your needs are given that your husband is deployed. No, you do not necessarily need a JAG lawyer but you do need an attorney that is familiar with service of a military spouse, your rights to military pension and how it is calculated (it uses some weird formula not like calculating regular pensions), etc. You have some time here to ask around and to interview attorneys that you feel are competent and are comfortable with. Please be aware that military personnel are protected under the law in these matters (and really rightfully so because they are not physically here to defend themselves) so this may take time. But if he agrees it could go quickly. Be patient. Good luck.
