If my friend got a DUI and I left my phone in the car earlier in the day, are the cops allowed to search through my phone?

Can I go to the police station and get my phone from the evidence locker?

The answer to searching your phone is, maybe.  The police have the right to search the vehicle - even locked glove boxes and trunks - after the car is impounded.  The property inside will be "vouchered" meaning that it will be listed and stored.  You will need proof that the property is yours.  Go down and see what they say.  You should be fine.  Good luck.
