If I’m robbed while delivering pizza for a franchise, is it responsible for any losses that I have?

I was robbed at gunpoint, while delivering a pizza order. They stole my wallet, my van and my cell phone. They also broke my sunglasses. My employer told me that they aren’t responsible for any of my losses.

Why would your employer be liable for your loss--did your employer rob you? An employer is not responsible for the criminal acts of unrelated third parties who are not under its control and direction--like the person who robbed you. So your employer is correct--it is not liable for your loss.
