If you are an hourly employee, then yes, you must be paid for the time spent on mandatory training--training is still "work" insomuch as it is done at the employer's direction, for it's benefit, and all work time must be paid. If you are salaried, however, you can be required to work extra hours or other than your normal shifts/schedule without any additional compensation.
