If I file a quit claim deed for a change from my maiden to my married name, what ID do I use for the notary?
I have to file a quit claim to change my name on my deed, however, I don’t have any ID with my maiden name on it anymore. Which name ID do I have to present to the notary? My maiden name (the name on the current deed) or my married name, the name I want the deed to reflect?

If you want to transfer legal title of a piece of real estate to yourself using your maiden name to your married name the identification that you need to provide the notary if he or she does not know you is the identification with your maiden name on it.
