If I am behind on my car payment and my car is repossessed, do I have the right to get the balance that I owe?
The finance company repossessed my car this morning. I called them to get the balance I owed to see if I could get the money. They would not give that information to me. I also asked to speak to a supervisor and they would not let me. I spoke to the “recovery dept.” as well. No one would help.

I would write the lender a letter, certified mail return receipt requested seeking the information you want keeping a copy for future need.
You should also consider consulting with an attorney who practices in the area of auto repossession to further assist.
Look at your last statement from the lender to get an idea as to how much you owe on your car loan. Since it was repossessed, you will have a late fee charge, accrued interest, towing charges and storage fees to be tacked onto your last statement.
