If a minor is in a car accident and the settlement is put in a bank account until the child reaches 18, can an adult go to court to get some of the money?
And if they do have access to the settlement, does the parent have to show proof of what they spent the money on? And can the parent go to court to get some of the money, if the child is no longer living with them.

In a situation where there has been a minor's compromise concerning a settlement and money is in a blocked account, the trustee under the account must get a court order every time allowing the withdrawal of money. If the child is not living with one parent that parent can ask the court for some of the money od such is to be used for the minor.
