If one's home is sold as a result of delinquent property taxes, the former owner does not have to legally vacate the unit until a notice of eviction is personally served upon him or her by the new owner of the property.
If your state has a period of redemption for the former property owner to reinstate the unpaid property taxes by paying the person who paid for such delinquency at the tax auction, then the former owner should do all necessary to possibly save his or her home as one last opportunity to do so.
If you are the property owner who is subject to the property tax sale of your home or the sale has happened, you should consult with an experienced real estate attorney to possibly assist you in getitng your home back if that is your desire.
