If a company is holding a “company party” on a Saturday which is your personal weekend, can the company require you to attend?

Yes, as a general matter, your employer may make your work--or attend a company party--on your weekend, after hours, on your day off, etc. The employer sets--and can change at will--employee's work schedules or require off-shift work.

The exceptions are:

1) You have an employment agreement or contract specifying your days off; if so, the contract is enforceable.

2) Forcing you to work on Saturday is against your religion, and so could constitute religious discriminatio or harassment (for example, if you were an observant Jew).
