If a 18 year old got married in Georgia would you still be considered married in Nebraska
I’m 18 and want to move to NE with my partner where he is from. We have been together for 2 years. My parents do not want me moving so I wouldn’t have any support from them. My partner and I sat down and talked about getting married so that he could support me better. I was looking online and saw that in NE the age is 19 to get married without parental consent. If we got married in GA, would we still be considered married in NE?

So long as your marriage is legal in the state in which your wedding is performed, it will be recognized by all other states. For this, among other things, you will need a valid marriage license. The requirements for obtaining this vary from state-to-state. For example, in certain states there are residency restrictions that may prevent you from getting married there until you become a legal resident. Accordingly, you will need to obtain this information before making your wedding plans.Courthouses are a good resource to learn more about marriage licenses and legal requirements.
