If I work at a gas station and our store is scheduled to close at the end of the month, can they deny me unemployment?

The company who owns the gas station I work at was just bought out. Our store will be closed. My manager talked to the HR manager and she told him that if there is a store opening in a store that is over 10 miles from my house, that I will be denied for unemployment. She said she will make sure if we turn down the position that we will not get unemployment. This goes for everyone in the store. Can they deny me unemployment?

This  is why we have Courts. You would file Petition for Unemployment Compensation. If the employer denies your entitlement uo unemployment compensation benefits, an Administrative Law Judge would hear the case and decide if you are lawfully entitled to benefits. It is not ( ! ) up to your employer. It is up to the Judge, following a hearing and listening to testimony from you and your employer.
